Dr. Janet N. Spriggs, president of Forsyth Technical Community College, will serve as the commencement speaker for Isothermal Community College’s Annual Commencement Ceremonies on Saturday, May 16. Ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Associate Degree Nursing students pinned during special ceremony

Forty-nine Isothermal Community College nursing students were awarded their pins at a special ceremony this week. The pinning ceremony, held at the Performing Arts and Conference Center at Isothermal Community College, is the traditional graduation event for the students in the Associate Degree Nursing program.

SECU Bridge to Career Scholarships Available at Isothermal Community College - 26 March 2026

Isothermal Community College is offering up to 30 scholarships of $500 each through the SECU Bridge to Career Program, helping students pursue workforce training and industry-recognized credentials. Isothermal Community College Celebrates BLET Class 89 Graduation and Honors Director Philip Bailey’s Final Class - 05 February 2026

Isothermal Community College celebrated the graduation of Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Class 89 on February 3. The class achieved a 100% pass rate on the North Carolina State Comprehensive Exam, completing 868 instructional hours under the state’s expanded curriculum. The ceremony also marked the final BLET class led by longtime Director Philip Bailey, who was recognized for his leadership and service.

Seven New Truck Drivers Graduate from Isothermal Community College - 18 December 2025

Isothermal Community College recently celebrated the graduation of seven students from its Truck Driver Training Program. The graduates are now fully trained and ready to start their careers in the transportation and logistics industry. Classes for the next session begin Monday, Jan. 12, 2026. Isothermal Community College Launches “Isothermal Works” Workforce Development Initiative with Support from NC GlaxoSmithKline Foundation - 17 December 2025

Isothermal Community College has launched Isothermal Works, a new workforce development initiative designed to connect students to high-demand careers through hands-on, work-based learning experiences. Funded in part by the North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation, the program partners with local school districts, employers, and workforce organizations to create clear pathways from high school to college and into the workforce across five key industries: healthcare, manufacturing and trades, IT, education, and public safety.

Thirty Paramedics and EMTs Graduate from Isothermal Community College - 15 December 2025

Isothermal Community College recognized 30 graduates from its Paramedic and Emergency Medical Technician programs during a certification ceremony held December 9 in the college gymnasium. The event marked the first public graduation ceremony for both programs, with 19 students earning paramedic certification and 11 completing EMT certification. All graduates seeking employment have already secured positions in the field, highlighting the strong workforce demand for EMS professionals.

Isothermal Community College and Trelleborg Celebrate Innovative Partnership - 17 November 2025

Isothermal Community College and Trelleborg Engineered Coated Fabrics celebrated a year of collaboration that has advanced innovation and workforce development in Rutherford County. Over the past year, Trelleborg has operated a testing and training facility inside ICC’s engineering bays, using the space to refine new processes ahead of its upcoming Daniel Road expansion. The partnership has supported hands-on innovation, strengthened the local talent pipeline, and helped lay the groundwork for new high-skill manufacturing jobs in the region.
