Sixteen Emergency Medical Technician Students Graduate from Isothermal Community College

Spindale, NC (May 18, 2026) -  Sixteen Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-Basic) students graduated from Isothermal Community College during a ceremony held Monday evening.

The graduation, held in the Student Center Gymnasium, recognized students completing the EMT Initial – Spring 2026 class. Family members, friends, faculty, and staff gathered to celebrate the completion of the program and the students’ readiness to enter the emergency medical services field.

The 16 graduates are: Jacob Allen, Benjamin Blanton, Clayton Burns, Melissa Carlisle, Raphael Flores, Kat Hamilton, Micah Hawelu-Kim, Charlie Martin, Eddie Reynolds, Reina Rodriguez, Bennett Ruff, Patsy Scruggs, Kelly Wallace, Leland Whitesides, Lirah Wiggen, and Marie Wright.

The students and guests were welcomed to the ceremony by college leadership, followed by recognition of the class by EMS faculty and instructors. The program highlighted the skills, dedication, and training required to complete EMT certification and serve in high-pressure emergency response environments.

Isothermal Community College offers Emergency Medical Services programs designed to prepare students for entry-level and advanced roles in emergency care. Additional EMS continuing education and specialty courses are also available throughout the year to support ongoing professional development and skill enhancement.
