Proctoring services

Proctoring services are available through Isothermal Community College Testing Center for distance education students attending other colleges. Tests are administered in a secure, professional, and monitored environment. The center is equipped with computers and internet connectivity as well as desk space for administering paper-based exams.

Requesting proctoring services

We require examination dates and times be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. Please keep in mind that we may not be able to accommodate your requested appointment time. Plan ahead to ensure you have time to seek another testing location if we can not accommodate the request.

To request services, contact the testing center at testing@isothermal.edu and include the following in your email:

1. First and Last Name
2. Phone Number
3. Email Address
4. Course Information
5. Institution and Instructor Name
6. Dates your test must be completed
7. Test Format (computer or paper)

The decision for use of our proctoring services is made by your instructor. After approval of dates and times, it will be your responsibility to notify your instructor of these services.

The institution requesting test proctoring services is responsible for providing all test materials. This includes books, special paper, graphs, texts, charts, tables, etc. The institution or student must also provide pre-addressed, postage-paid shipping materials if the test is to be returned by mail.

Cost for Proctoring Services:

We charge a fee of $20.00 which must be paid in advance to the cashier at the Business Office located in the Administration Building. Payments can be made in person or by phone by calling 828-395-1298 or for clarification contact zmurray@isothermal.edu.

To enter the Testing Center you must have these items:

1. Present receipt of proctoring fee payment
2. Present a valid government-issued photo ID.
