College and Career Readiness

Commencement

Isothermal Community College’s College and Career Readiness Commencement will be held on Saturday, May 11 at 2:00 p.m. in the Frank and Mabel West Auditorium, The Center for Learning and the Arts – The Foundation. Graduates include those who earned Adult High School diplomas between April 25, 2023 and April 19, 2024 and High School Equivalency diplomas (HiSET/GED) between April 25, 2023 and April 30th, 2024.

Deadline for Graduation

Adult High School diploma courses must be complete by April 19, 2024

High School Equivalency tests must be completed by April 30, 2024

Commencement Rehearsal

Rehearsal will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Students will meet in the Foundation building, Maple room.

Tickets and Seating

Tickets are not required. Students may invite an unlimited number of guests.

Attire 

Students are required to wear black cap with tassel and black gown. Tassels are worn on the right side then switched to the left when you are instructed to turn your tassel. Cap and gown may be purchased from the Isothermal Community College bookstore.

Bookstore hours: Monday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. 

The cost for the cap, gown and tassel is $26.75. Graduates may contact the college Bookstore for more information at 828-395-1633. When calling, make sure to inform them you are a graduating Adult High School or High School Equivalency student.

Special Needs

If graduates or guests require special accommodations, please contact the Office of Accessibility at 828-395-1732 or email Alfreda Lindsay at alindsay@isothermal.edu. In order to guarantee accommodations, please submit requests no later than April 23. 

Parking

Parking, including handicap accessible parking, will be available in the Foundation lot. Reminder: all guests should park in a designated parking space.
