SPINDALE (Sept. 10, 2020) — The Isothermal Community College Board of Trustees has begun a search for a new president to replace Walter Dalton, who will retire in February 2021.

The first step for the trustees is to develop a profile for the position. This profile sets out the kind of person and types of skills the board would like to see in a new president.

To create the profile, the trustees are seeking input from employees, students, members of the community and other stakeholders.

Once the profile is established a website will be published to share the details about the search including the application process.

There are several ways to share your opinion.

First, you may complete a four-question survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/isothermal-cc-presidential-search.

Second, you may attend one of three public forums on Thursday, Sept. 17:

    • 10 a.m. — The Foundation Performing Arts and Conference Center
    • 1 p.m. — Isothermal Polk Center in Columbus
    • 6 p.m. — The Foundation Performing Arts and Conference Center

Space is extremely limited, due to social distancing requirements. Face coverings will be required. Please do not attend if you are running a high temperature or have any symptoms of COVID-19.

The sessions will also stream on Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/isothermal.edu. You do not have to have a Facebook account to view these streams.

The forums will be conducted by Kennon Briggs of ACCT Search, the firm the trustees have hired to conduct the search.
