Health Sciences Entrance Exams

Students applying to the Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) program, the Advanced Placement ADN (RN) program, Practical Nursing Education (LPN), or Surgical Technology program at Isothermal Community College are required to take an entrance exam.  The Health Science entrance exam service is available only to students attending Isothermal Community college and are approved for testing by the Health Sciences advisor. These entrance tests are scheduled by the Health Sciences advisor and candidates must meet the general college admissions requirements in their respective program prior to testing. The Health Sciences page lists the various programs offered through Isothermal Community College with the requirements needed for each program.

Associates Degree in Nursing program is required to take the Registered Nursing School Aptitude Exam which is administered through the Psychological Services Bureau.

The Advanced Placement Associates Degree in Nursing applicants will be required to take the Nursing Acceleration Challenge Exam 1 (NACE1) which is administered through the National League for Nursing.

Entrants into the Practical Nursing Education program will take the ATI TEAS assessment administered through ATI Nursing Education.

It is advised that you prepare in advance for each exam above your regular curriculum work in the General Occupation Technology program.  Visit the Isothermal Community College bookstore to purchase a practice book specific for the entrance exam you will be taking. You may also visit the testing website of each organization for materials that will help prepare you for the exam you will be required to take for entrance into your desired program.
