The College’s performance appraisal process for faculty considers both the art of working with students (formative processes) and the effectiveness of the outcome (summative evaluation). The purpose of the comprehensive performance appraisal process is to focus on encouraging growth through innovation and collaboration and measuring effectiveness through student and formal supervisor evaluations. For full-time faculty, this process will include, but is not limited to, a Performance Enrichment Plan, classroom evaluation(s), and classroom observation(s). At a minimum, full-time faculty will be evaluated annually. Part-time faculty will be evaluated in accordance with procedures established. The Board authorizes and directs the President to establish performance evaluation procedures that consists of the components essential in fulfilling the College’s mission, vision and values.
The College’s performance appraisal process for staff and instructional paraprofessionals is an ongoing collaborative effort between the employee and the immediate supervisor. The purpose of the policy is to encourage and facilitate improvement of work performance as it relates to the College’s mission, vision and values. The comprehensive performance appraisal process is designed to evaluate and assess the employee’s impact on services rendered to students and the community. The process will also include, but is not limited to, a personal plan of growth and/or improvement that enhances job performance. At a minimum, full-time staff and instructional paraprofessionals will be evaluated annually. Part-time staff and instructional paraprofessionals will be evaluated in accordance with procedures established. The Board authorizes and directs the President to establish performance evaluation procedures that consists of the components essential in fulfilling the College’s mission, vision and values.
Nothing in this policy shall be made a term or condition of an employee’s contract.
