Pioneer Giving Campaign

Their Dream, Your Gift, Our Mission!

The excitement is building as we kick off the Pioneer Giving Campaign, aimed at securing funds to outfit our new Health and Sciences Center. This innovative space is set to become the home for our Allied Health, Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, and other science programs, like Biology and Chemistry. The North Carolina General Assembly generously granted a $30 million dollar appropriation to kickstart the construction of the facility. An anticipated $5 million dollars is needed for simulation equipment and other technology to transform this space into a world-class healthcare training facility.

Student spotlights

Kaylyn Luckadoo, student

"Embarking on my nursing journey presented its share of challenges, from balancing the coursework and clinical hours, to mastering practical skills that required relentless dedication. The nursing program has profoundly impacted my life, fostering empathy and sharpening critical thinking skills. This program has also given me leadership opportunities as being elected the president for the Student Nurse Association. I will graduate in May and feel equipped by this program to provide compassionate care, having transformed challenges into stepping stones towards a fulfilling and impactful career as a nurse." Kaylyn Luckadoo, student
Magan Sisk, student

"I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support I received from my Isothermal Community College family. Without the encouragement and assistance I received, I would not have reached the point I am at today. This challenging journey has transformed not only my career path, but it has sparked my empathy and compassion that will undoubtedly shape my approach to patient care. I carry with me the lessons learned from this journey, armed with a newfound resilience and an unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of those I get the pleasure of caring for." Magan Sisk, student
Buffy Lynch, graduate

"As a single mom with 3 small kids, I enrolled in Isothermal’s nursing program. It was hard but I learned a lot from Dr. Wiltshire. Then, a year later, I was a Licensed Practical Nurse and started a job that I’ve had for 20 years.

Then I decided after 20 years to go back to ICC and obtain my RN. It was hard but worth it. I learned so much from this journey. The instructors are very caring and have taught me how to become a good nurse. Isothermal has helped me and changed my life."
Buffy Lynch, alumna
