Do you have your CDL permit and would like to complete
your North Carolina Commercial Drivers License skills
test? We are certified by the North Carolina Department
of Motors Vehicles as a 3rd party tester for the skills
exam. You can test in our vehicle or bring your own.
What types of CDL licenses do we test for?
You can test for a CDL Class A or B and for a P (passenger)
endorsement. We are a Certified Third Party CDL tester
for North Carolina.
When can I test?
Call Van Bridges, 828-286-3636,
ext. 221 to schedule
an appointment. Plan for 2 hours to complete your
exam. We will schedule your examination usually within
2 weeks.
Do I need to bring my own vehicle?
You can bring your own vehicle. It must be the
same as the type of vehicle you want to be licensed to
drive. It must meet DOT mechanical standards. Please
tell us what you will be bringing when you schedule your
exam.
What does it cost to test for
a CDL Class A or B?
$250 if you bring your
own truck for Class A
$350 if you will be using a truck
What do I need to bring with
me for a CDL Class A or B?
If you are using your own truck you will need to bring
- CDL permit Class A or B
- Social security card
- DOT medical card
If you are using our truck or bus you will need
- CDL permit Class A or B
- Social security card
- DOT medical card
- Recent DOT drug screen results
What does it cost for a P endorsement?
- CDL permit Class A or B with a P endorsement
- Social security card
- DOT medical card
What does the CDL skills test consist of?
The skills test is given in three separate steps:
- The pre-trip inspection test
- The basic control skills test (backing included)
- The road test
These tests are given in the type of vehicle you wish
to be licensed for.
What about retesting?
Only one attempt at each test is allowed per
day. You will have five attempts to pass each test.
