In October 2001, the Learning Communities and Cooperative Learning taskforces merged to form the Learning Strategies Taskforce. This taskforce explores strategies for improving learning through the following:

• steers our efforts to train new faculty in learning strategies
• shares cooperative learning techniques
• serves as planning partners for newly trained faculty and staff
• serves as a resource by demonstrating the techniques
• meets regularly to discuss ways to support our learning efforts
• acknowledge contributions to the learning college via the Golden Apple Award
• implementation of  “Learning Communities"
• mentoring and developing future leadership skills to sustain the learning college
• serves as a resource for global education efforts
