Description of Each Module:
-
Team Building:
An effective leadership strategy that will increase employee
retention, improve service, increase accountability and embrace
change. Dealing effectively with people is a challenge that all
leaders face.
-
Business Literacy:
Leaders play an integral role in guiding organizations to
financial success. The understanding of financial principles
makes it possible for leaders to justify and gain support for
their decisions. The goal of this module is to give leaders a
financial perspective of their organization.
-
Myers-Briggs:
A major challenge for leaders is dealing with the many “people
issues” that exist. A communication style that one person may
respond well to only aggravates another. Understanding the
various personality types makes it possible for leaders to
better deal with people. MB is a personality type indicator. In
this session, participants will be assessed and discuss the
different personality types and how their communications should
be adjusted to yield the best results.
-
Leadership Styles:
Leadership is demonstrated in many different styles and
situations. Sometimes, authority is given and is a right. Other
times, it must be earned. The objective of this session is to
help participants better understand what leadership is,
understand various leadership roles and learn to identify
leadership potential in others.
-
Teamwork and
Communication: Effective communication and teamwork
are necessary to keep organizations competitive. This session
highlights the challenges faced by team leaders. Dealing with
difficult people and situations are issues faced by all leaders.
Participants will learn through role-plays the best practices
for dealing with challenges like….Giving Constructive Feed back,
Dealing with Emotional Behavior and Resolving Team Conflicts.
-
Problem Solving and
Decision Making: Obstacles are plentiful for leaders.
Problems like handling difficult people, dealing with complex
regulations and managing time effectively are a daily challenge.
This session introduces techniques and processes for leaders to
follow that will take the guesswork out of problem solving and
decision-making.
-
Legal Issues for
Leaders: Businesses are giving greater attention to
employee relations and the link to organizational success and
profitability. There will also be a review of key issues such as
EEO, Diversity and Sexual Harassment. These are issues that
leaders need to be familiar with so they can professionally
represent the organization.
-
Public Speaking:
Leaders are called upon regularly to speak on their feet and
this is perceived as the greatest of all fears. We have
activities to develop their self-confidence and self-esteem.
-
Adventure Training:
Imagine returning from this leadership series with enthusiasm
for your job and more tools to attack problems. Adventure
training will be the capstone experience for participants. The
group must analyze, plan, organize and communicate to accomplish
tasks. Activities like “Line-Up”, “Trust Walk”, “Pipe Line” and
“Rope of Knowledge” will once again focus attention on effective
leadership and communication skills. This session will conclude
with group presentations on leadership skills learned during the
series.
