Nurse Aide & Allied Health Programs
Betsy Cuthbertson, Coordinator

Automated Coding and Billing Specialist (CBCS)
Prepares student for national certification test.
Prerequisite: High School Diploma or GED.

Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS)
Prepares student for national certification test.
Prerequisite: High School Diploma or GED.

EKG
Prepares student for national certification test.
Prerequisite: High School Diploma or GED.

Massage Therapy
Prepares student for MBLex exam to practice therapeutic massage in the state of NC and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) exam for national certification.
Prerequisite: High School Diploma or GED. Adequate score on free reading comprehension test

Medication Aide
Prepares student for State of North Carolina certification test.
Prerequisite: Nurse Aide I in good standing on North Carolina Registry

Medical Administration/Office Assistant (CMAA)
Provides skills training in three competency areas: administrative office, laboratory, and clinical.
Prepares student for national certification as a Medical Assistant.
Prerequisites: High School diploma or GED
Nurse Aide I
Prepares student for State of North Carolina certification test.
Prerequisite: Adequate score on free reading comprehension test

Nurse Aide II
Prepares student for more advanced nurse aide duties.
Prerequisite: Current listing on NC Nurse Aide I registry and high school diploma or GED.   

Phlebotomy
Prepares student for national certification test.
Prerequisite: High school graduate or equivalent GED and adequate score on free reading and math comprehension tests.

Spanish for Health Care Workers
Prepares students in medical fields to communicate more clearly and effectively with Spanish speaking people.
NOTE: Required comprehension tests are administered free of charge every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. at ICC-Polk. No appointment necessary.
