The human resources department is committed to supporting the college’s mission, vision, and strategic goals. The college mission is accomplished by implementing and enforcing policies and procedures which ensure the employment practices of the college comply with all applicable laws. The college engages in value-added initiatives by developing and maintaining a system for employment and selection that is responsive to the needs of the college and is free of discriminatory biases.  

Isothermal Community College seeks applications through advertising, notification of appropriate public job services and other means. All faculty and administrative position are advertized in Diversity Magazine. A college selection committee is appointed for each full-time vacancy. The selection committee is involved in the selection of the candidates for positions in conjunction with the administration.

The plan for academic year 2008–09 is to continue with the current approach.
