Travis Tritt’s career signaled a new direction for country music. In his early years Tritt played the honky tonk circuit and there developed a distinctive sound, adding elements of country-rock and bluesy Southern rock to his honky tonk. Consequently, he developed a gutsy, outlaw image that distinguished him from the country pack. Throughout the early '90s, he had a string of platinum albums and Top Ten singles, including “Country Club,” “Help Me Hold On,” “Can I Trust You with My Heart” and “Foolish Pride.”
