Internationally acclaimed duo, Pat Mendoza and Miguel Espinoza meld unique blends of Spanish guitar, Native American flute, folk music, song and humor into cultural harmonies. Both men are Irish and Spanish. That makes them “Leprechaunos.” Mendoza, a celebrated troubadour and Espinoza, a renowned guitar master will delight your listening senses. Every moment on stage is fresh and new with this pair.

Mendoza, a former North Carolina resident (Lake Lure) returned to his native Colorado, met Espinoza, and a new sound was created.

Individually, Pat Mendoza, an internationally acclaimed storyteller, author, a singer (with a three octave range), composer, humorist, and musician. Mendoza has appeared throughout the United States and Canada, as well as the British Isles since 1976. He has received standing ovations as a featured storyteller at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee and the Yukon International Storytelling Festival in White Horse, Yukon Territory, Canada, as well as a myriad of other festivals nationwide. His work has been heard on National Public Radio, nationally on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and the British Broadcasting Corp. While performing in England and Scotland, he was the featured artist on the BBC for an entire week. His repertoire of original musical productions, songs and stories has earned him an audience comprised of all age groups. Since starting his career in 1976, Pat has performed over 18,000 shows.

Although Miguel’s first love is in playing traditional flamenco music, he is evolving into a new direction, and has performed and recorded with musicians such as banjoist Bela Fleck (of the Flecktones, appearing courtesy of Warner Bros. Records), bassist Kai Eckhardt (John McLaughlin Trio), and Howard Levey, just to name a few. Miguel has been acclaimed as one of the great innovators and pioneers in flamenco guitar playing today – having spent many years refining techniques and styles of classical flamenco, he now composes in his own unique style. With influences from all over the world, Miguel blends his Latin heart with his love of jazz and classical music.

Miguel Espinoza is regarded as one of the finest flamenco guitarists in the United States and throughout Europe – his credentials speak for themselves. At the age of nine he performed his first guitar recital on PBS television. He has apprenticed with noted flamenco masters in Spain, and has toured throughout Europe and the U.S. He has recorded.
