Rutherford Early College High School - REaCH

The Rutherford Early College High School (REaCH) program is a partnership between Rutherford County Schools and Isothermal Community College (ICC) and is located on the ICC campus. As a cooperative innovative high school, REaCH students are simultaneously enrolled in both high school courses and ICC coursework. Current eighth grade students living in Rutherford County have the opportunity to consider REaCH as an option for an accelerated curriculum and robust learning in a small, close-knit environment. REaCH serves students in grades 9-12 with the only entry point being rising 9th graders.

What credentials can I earn?

Students graduate with a high school diploma and the opportunity to complete an associate degree or earn up to two years of college credit through Isothermal.

What are the costs?

There is no cost for books or tuition on approved courses for fall and spring semesters.

Is REaCH a good fit for you?

Each student is unique. REaCH is a good fit for students who:

  • Enjoy being in a small, supportive environment where they can connect to others and still feel free to be themselves.
  • Are willing to work hard in an accelerated academic environment.
  • Can balance independence with the responsibilities of good attendance, time management, and academic focus.

How do I apply?

The application process for REaCH takes place at the start of the spring semester of a student’s eighth grade year. Admission is based on a lottery process and is handled through the high school and Rutherford County Schools.  If you have questions, please call the REaCH office at 828-395-4190.
