Counseling

A professional counseling staff provides a variety of services to all enrolled and prospective students, faculty, and staff. Viewed as an educational and supportive service, counseling takes place on an individual basis or, when appropriate, in groups.

Counselors offer assistance with the educational process, building of self-concept, improvement of interpersonal relationships, and awareness of skills that lead to self-management.

Information and counseling are also offered in the areas of alcohol and drug abuse, promoting good physical and mental health, and study skills.

All discussions are confidential, and students are referred to appropriate community agencies or resource persons when they can be assisted more effectively.
