What is an Early Graduate?
An early graduate is a student who has completed all her/his high school graduation requirements ahead of the regular June schedule for seniors.
Options for Attending Isothermal Community College (ICC)
Option # 1 – If Your High School Transcript indicates a June Graduation Date
If your high school can only generate a final high school transcript that shows your graduation date as JUNE, then you will need to apply to ICC as a “special credit” student. Special credit students must select a specific program code (T90990A or T90990T or T90990B), and do not require high school transcripts, but may require placement testing depending on the classes you want to take.
Once you have begun classes in January, you can change your major to be in effect starting summer term. Make sure you ask your high school to send your transcripts to Isothermal Community College in June when the final transcript gets printed by them.
Please be aware that as a special credit student you cannot qualify for financial aid or any ICC scholarships.

Option # 2 – If Your High School Transcript indicates either a December or January Graduation Date
If your high school can generate a final transcript that indicates December or January as your graduation date, then you are able to apply for your program of choice. You must complete an application, have your high school transcripts sent in a sealed envelope, and once we have those two documents you can contact us about taking the placement test by calling 828-286-3636 ext. 251.
If you have any of the above steps already completed because you have taken classes at Isothermal Community College as a Dual or Huskins student, then please contact the Admissions Office at 828-286-3636 ext. 251 to determine anything else that might still be missing from your file.
